NEET PG 2026 Round 1 Registration: Step-by-Step Process

Registration is via the MCC portal (online). Make sure you have your exam details and all the required documents to hand prior to starting the application.

Step 1: Open the MCC Website

Go to https://mcc.nic.in/ and click on the PG Medical Counselling section. Under that find the registration link for NEET PG 2026.

Use the official site rather than an unverified link that’s been passed on to you via a message or on social media.

Step 2: Register as a Candidate

Enter the details requested on the registration form. Please check your personal details, your exam details, your contact details and all other entries before you submit them.

Use an active mobile number and email address so that you can receive the relevant updates.

Step 3: Pay the Registration Fee

Pay the relevant non-refundable registration fee and any required refundable security deposit. The amount will vary according to the category of counselling and the type of seats selected under the relevant scheme.

Pay in full by the stipulated date and keep your receipt.

Step 4: Log In to the Counselling Portal

After you’ve registered, log into your candidate account using your login details. Have a look at the instructions prior to moving on to the choice filling.

Step 5: Select Colleges and Courses

Choose the colleges and courses you would actually be interested in joining. Look at the fees, the stipend, the bond, the location, the clinical facilities and the previous closing ranks before you go any further and set your preferences.

Don’t pick a college on the basis of its name or last year’s cutoff alone. You need to look at the current seat matrix and admission criteria as well.

Step 6: Lock Your Choices

Go through your full preference list and lock in your choices within the official window. The choice filling period closes on 22 October at 10 am per the published timetable and the choice locking window is 4 pm on 21 October to 4 am on 22 October.

Keep a copy of your choice list or confirmation page if the portal provides one.

Step 7: Check the Allotment Result

MCC have scheduled the Round 1 seat allocation result for 24th October 2026. You can log on to the official site to view your result and the associated instructions with your allocation.

Step 8: Complete College Reporting

Candidates who have been allocated a seat should report to the institution within the stipulated time and complete the admission process. The published timetable states that reporting and joining will take place from 26th October to 2nd November 2026.

Confirm the reporting requirements, the original documents and the fee payment procedure with the designated college.

NEET PG 2026 Counselling Fees and Security Deposit

The registration fee is in addition to the tuition fee charged by the medical college. You will also need to pay the appropriate security deposit.

MCC conducts counselling for postgraduate medical seats within its jurisdiction (this includes 50% of the All India Quota (AIQ) seats and seats in the various institutions that participate in the scheme, i.e. central universities and deemed universities as per the relevant counselling scheme). <Cite refs={[“turn854566search1”,“turn854566search12”]}/>
